Mystery Shopping Scam Alert!

Please be warned that there are a number of scams related to mystery shopping. Some examples are:

• companies charging fees for registering as a shopper
• selling a guide to mystery shopping which promises to help you get mystery shopping work
• emails asking for your personal details or directing you to a fraudulent website to enter your details
• mystery shopping assignments that involve cashing a cheque or money order

Be assured that these practices have nothing to do with our company. Retail Mystery Shopping Australia (RMSA) does not and has never charged a fee for shoppers to register with our company.

Unfortunately, fraudulent companies or individuals may use names or web addresses of reputable companies like ours in their ads and emails. Some scammers even use email addresses or websites which spoof those of legitimate companies.

Our website address to register as a shopper is https://www.rmsareporting.com.au/shopperSignup.asp. If you are directed to a website claiming to be RMSA but with a different address, it is NOT our website. We also do not solicit people to sign up with us via email. The only way to apply to shop with us is on our website.

Suggested steps to take if you think you have been scammed:

• Contact your local police department to file a report
• File a report with the The SCAMwatch ACCC or phone 1300 795 995.
• Contact RMSA via info@mysteryshopping.com.au to let us know if someone is using our company name to commit fraud and keep a record of all correspondence. Remember, it is not RMSA who is committing the fraud, we are victims too.
